High Pressure Laminate
Durable, Hygienic Surfaces Designed for Children’s Spaces
All of our interactive play systems from the Magic Wall-Series, MyKidsCorner-Series, and Magic PlayTable-Series feature a premium, high-quality plastic-coated surface (melamine resin). This coating is heat-resistant, scratchproof, waterproof and UV-resistant.
The digitally printed layout is sealed with a strong melamine resin laminate, protecting the surfaces against external influences and ensuring long-lasting durability. The casings of our play systems with HPL surfaces retain their original look for years without fading. Unlike painted, foil-coated, or screen-printed surfaces, laminated HPL is abrasion-resistant and protects against many types of damage. This is the same material widely used for kitchen countertops.
The surface is easy to maintain and clean, resistant to heat, saliva and light, odor-neutral and insensitive to alcohol, organic solvents, steam and water – making it the ideal choice for environments with children.
In addition, our HPL surfaces provide the perfect opportunity to design housings according to your own ideas and integrate the play systems seamlessly into existing or newly developed interiors. Adapting the design to your corporate identity is also easily possible. Thanks to digital printing, almost any design can be applied to the housing.
All original OrgaControl play systems are never painted or foil-coated, but exclusively finished with HPL surfaces.
At OrgaControl, we use HPL surfaces throughout our Magic Wall, MyKidsCorner, and Magic PlayTable product ranges. All original OrgaControl children’s play systems are finished with HPL, rather than painted or foil-coated surfaces.
For us, this is not simply a design choice. It is a practical material decision for products that are built for daily use in high-traffic environments. In children’s areas, waiting rooms, hospitality settings, and other frequently used spaces, surfaces need to do more than look appealing. They need to remain durable, easy to clean, and visually consistent over time.
Easy Cleaning of HPL Surfaces
HPL surfaces are designed for easy everyday cleaning. In most cases, mild soap solutions, warm cleaning water, or non-abrasive household cleaners are all that is needed. After cleaning, the surface should be wiped with warm water to remove any residue and then dried with a soft cloth. Scouring powders, steel wool, and other abrasive cleaners should be avoided.
Suitable Cleaners and Disinfection
HPL surfaces are also well suited for regular disinfection. Alcohol-based disinfectants, especially those containing ethanol or isopropanol, are a practical choice. Resopal also identifies resistance to other types of disinfecting agents, including aldehyde-based, peroxide-based, chlorine-based, and quaternary ammonium compounds. In every case, the selected product should be used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, including the recommended concentration and contact time.
Important Note
For safe and simple maintenance, cleaning and disinfection should be carried out separately and in sequence, rather than by mixing different products. This helps preserve the surface while maintaining a high standard of hygiene.
